I have a 1994 Geo Prizm. When driving, it seems to have some lost power & will sputter a bit. When I opened the hood there was smoke coming from the rear center of the motor by the firewall. I am positive what I was smelling was not anitfreeze. Any ideas??

I just added fuel injector cleaner + changed the oil filter & PCV valve HOPING for an easy fix. Just my luck....no improvement

no CEL? you could be running to rich or have a misfire that is making CAT overheat. when was last tune up?

Unsure what CEL or CAT is. It has been awhile (over a year) since last tune up.

Check Engine Light,CATalytic converter.

10-4. No Check Engine light active. I will try today to put plugs / wires on vehicle & see if that hepls at all. I've never heard of a catalytic converter getting hot. Is that a common problem?
