I have a 94 automatic Geo Prizm. About 6 months ago I got my car back from the shop (replaced distributor, radiator, spark plugs&wires)and it seemed jumpy when I accelerated in lower speeds. I hoped it would go away, but just has gotten worse. It takes quite a while to get up to 60mph. From a stop i have to gradually give it gas until it catches and goes forward. Usually let off gas, slowly push the gas again, let off again if its not going anywhere...repeat until it catches and i get a little power. Sometimes while going 10-15mph i cant accelerate any more, I can slam the pedal to the floor and go no where. tough going up hills. Not sure if its my transmission or something to do with the fuel system? Car seems fine once on the freeway, high speeds doesn't seem to bother it, its easier to accelerate at higher speeds.
