I have a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT with the 3.0 letter I have to change the camshaft . Do I have to take the lifters out or could I leave them in without losing any of them in the motor

yes you have to remove lifter and throw them in the trash and get new ones. you never put old lifters with a new cam it will wear the cam out very quickly
