Gauges stopped working

1994 Ranger, 2.3L. Gauges stopped working but I have dash lights. I replaced the battery and had the alternator tested which is good as well. Checked all fuses and fusible links. Any ideas??? TIA

Gas gauge was the first to stop working and the next day, the others quit as well?

Check and test all the fuses if all okay-have the instrument cluster checked and tested

Re: can or if the instrument cluster is shorted, is it possible for it to drain the battery???

Yes, it will any short circuit within the vehicle electrical system
