Yesterday my '94 Dodge spirit started cutting off, or stalling out every time I slowed down to much or came to a stop. I took my car by O'Reillys auto store and they checked the battery and alternater and both checked out fine. The associate that checked it said it may be a fule regulator. The car will start roughly, and it idled just fine. But when u put it in gear u have to keep pressing the gas to keep it running. What do u think is causing it to keep cutting off, or stalling out?

O'Reilly's aren't mechanics so take everything they say with a grain of salt. Check your fuel pressure with a gauge and clean the throttle plate on both sides and iac hole with choke cleaner

Ok, Im sure exactly what u mean. I'm not dumb, I just know very little about cars. I dropped the car off at a mechanic last night and I'm waiting for him to call me. But I asked because if its something simple enough to do myself, is rather do it to save money. I don't want to get over charged. I'm hoping its not something tocomplicated or serious. It's a good sign that the car will start and idle. And it will move as long as u keep giving it gas. Thanks for ur answer, but I don't know how to perform the action that u said. I only know where the basic parts of a car is.

Sorry, I ment to say that I "don't" know exactly what u mean. So if u can simply tell me what to do it would be great. But if u can't explain it in an email or don't have the time then that's ok. But thank you.

rent a fuel gauge for an auto parts, and connect to fuel rail , turn key on and see if it reads 39 psi for a 2.2 L or 2.5 L 55 for a 3.3L or 48 for a 3.5l if not that minimum replace the pump

not broken just doesn't give enough pressure. but will need replacing which will require dropping the tank out of the car.

Do u know how much it would cost, and if its something I can do myself? Of do u have to have special tools?
