Part numbers don't mean a whole bunch. You need to go according to car model and options. Any computer sent back to be repaired / rebuilt got a new part number representing any updates and improvements. Whenever we order a used module, we don't even look at the part numbers.
You'll find a gollyzillion modules in the salvage yards, but there is one REAL important consideration. If your car has the factory-installed anti-theft system, you can use any computer. If you do not have factory anti-theft, you MUST find a module from a car that also did not have anti-theft. This also applies to the Engine Computer.
When you install a computer from a car that had anti-theft, it will teach that programming to the other computer, (Engine Computer to Body Computer or Body Computer to Engine Computer). That programming can not be undone. At that point the engine will not start because both computers are waiting for the disarm signal that's never coming.
Also, if your car does have anti-theft and you try a computer from a friend's car that doesn't have anti-theft, your other computer will teach the anti-theft programming to the borrowed computer. It will work in your car, but when you give it back to your friend, it will teach that programming to his other computer. Then he will need two replacement computers before his engine will start.
If you buy a rebuilt computer from the dealer, it will always come without anti-theft programming. Just stuff it in your car. It will learn the anti-theft programming from the Engine Computer if you have that on your car.
