I have a 94 Chevy 1/2 ton with the 6.5 turbo Diesel. The other day I went to drive it and when I pulled out, it shifted from first to overdrive. (Skipping 2, 3, and 4th) The last week it has not been shifting into 4th and overdrive lintel I am a few miles down the road, I then tried to shift done manually and then shift up as I gained speed, but then it would not go over 2. It is giving the code dtc 89 Maximum Adaptation and long shift. The transmission is newly rebuilt about ah year and 2 to 3 mouths ago. I have had a lot of wiring problems with the truck in the past so I tend to think that is what it is, but I was not able to find anything that I could see.
