1994 Cadillac El Dorado check oil level

I am assuming you have checked oil level in car . have a local pro check this out may be a wiring issue.

the local guy will have to hook a scanner first to see if any module is giving a code. then because it goes off and on its an intermittent problem so he will have to check for shorts or a wiring issue like a wire grounded out or this can be a bad cluster or info center causing the problem. It can also be a ground issue as you have ruled out a few things by replacing sensor and doing a few other things to keep it out. you would be surprised to see how many people send a problem only to find out that there was no or very low oil in the engine for similar problems. we can't trace shorts and can only give suggestions on what to do as well as what the problems are or could be. However if you would like your donation back reply you would and i'll see that it gets done.

Thanks for trying to help solve this problem. I think the warning message light is not intermediate as it comes on everytime I turn the key to start the car. Everytime for the last 6 months. Everytime.Removing the PCM fuse clears the fault for 5 starts. 5 starts everytime.Then the message light comes back on everytime after that.Everytime. I would think a fault message is in my PCM, but it is not enough to cause a (check engine) warning to show up.I would buy a scan tool but dont know the right type to buy as this car is before 1996. A "GM TECH-1" should work? but I also have a newer car that I would like to use it for also. And yes I tried lowering and raising the oil level,but no luck. One thing I forgot to add in my first question: When the car is at normal operating temp and I turn off the engine, the car will start and not show the warning light message if car is still hot. Yes I tried a new OEM sensor besides the generic one. No luck. I know this is another question, and will consider another donation. a tech 1 will work on all models BEFORE 1995 and some 1995 because they started the OBD1.5 then the OBD2 needs a tech 2 which run around $3000-4000 so kind of cost prohibitive. the ones at auto parts can only read engine and trans problem.s I have to believe this is some type of wiring or info center problem . the only thing I can find is possibly this is a connection problem and to correct it is to brush on dielectric compound on the connection points because they get some kind of coating on them and the compuound corrects that . that maybe why it doesn't do it warm or hot and does cold. Other than that i' am at aloss on what else to tell you.

I hope this question goes back to HMAC300. Sir I just got a email saying my $5 will be refunded. Heck the answer was OK. Please keep the $5. I have more information for the previous question (check oil level light).I cant find a diagram showing the sensor but other 4.6 northstar diagrams show a normally open circuit. So I checked for voltage at the sensor and its getting 12 volts when I turn on the ignition switch. The other wire has no voltage and has connectivy to to car frame (ground?). Sooo I disconnected the sensor and the light didn't come on when I started the car.Yes!!. Only it came back on after about six or seven starts later!! So even with the sensor completely disconnected it still comes back on. (the check oil level light). Doesnt pulling the fuse to the PCM clear all faults after about five minutes or longer. Will the scan tool remove the fault? Is there even a fault stored in the PCM or is there something else going on hear or what .I'll gladly send $20 to get this thing figured out.I know this is not an easy question. The fault light still DOESNT come on when I start the car when its hot!! What the heck? Thanks Louwelds

regarding your donation I already turned it in as not satisfied so they returned it . If you wan tot re donate contact mike @2carpros.com he can straighten it out .However you do not have to. as far as the problem with your car it may be an information center problem and even a scanner would turn the light off to have it come back on again. and yes pulling the ecm fuse for 30 seconds clears all the codes on your car. Due to the info center being digital it may have something wrong with it or there may be a wire rubbed through someplace that when cold it hits and when warm it gets far enough away that it doesn't . Strange I know but that's what happens especially with older vehicles. that is why I said it's intermittent because it doesn't do it when it warmed up. bEst thing here is to take it to a local guy and have him take a look at it if it bothers you that much.
