the display shows 23.0 mpg and the range displayed far exceeds what it should.

Yes, and the amount of fuel being used and left in the tank both appear to be correct

I had a new fuel sending unit installed a couple of weeks ago. But the range and mpg are still not working properly.

then if all else is working the module may have failed.
it may not be available anymore. call your local gm dealer and give them your vin number and see.

this is controled by the ecm.what is the range when it read 2 gal.
