Stuck passenger car door

This just happened recently. It won't open from the inside or outside. This happened while trying to fix the window. It has power locks and they all work. The key doesn't even open it now. The pass. lock does respond but I guess something is stuck or loose. The only problem I could find with the door panel off was a little golden rod just hanging there...the driver's side rod was secured..I tried multiple times to try and put it back in place. Help??
