i'm trying to change the rear breaks on my 93 toyota celica gts. it has one bolt to hold the caliper and a pin on top. my problem is it apears that the caliper is too far back to go over the new break pads. it needs to move out about an 1/8 of an inch but it won't slide on the pin. it moves up and down with ease but not forward and backwards at all. is there something that i haven't did?

The pin could be corroded and binding and that needs to be very free and well lubricated for the brakes to work correctly. You need to swivel it back and forth until you can get it all the way slid off the pin and then clean and lubricate the pin and hole until is slides freely.
