I just changed brake caliper and bled the brake lines. I didn't change the pads. The car isn't braking as hard as normal. What could be wrong?

you still have air in the system. re bleed it until good clean fluid comes out with no air.

Could there be any other problem that could cause this? And does the caliper adjust itself to the older pads?

it will adjust itself to any pad. once the pedal pumps the caliper to the pad, the pedal should be like it was. thats why i still think you have air in the system.

I put the car on jacks, took the wheels off, and got a friend for pumping the brakes. after the tires were up I told my friend to press down on the brake, then I turned the bleeding screw for just a second then tightened it back. then he let go of the brake and I repeated that 4-5 times in on each side starting from passenger rear wheel, moving to driver rear, then to passenger front then driver front. I did forget to make sure the brake fluid level was full and it had gotten empty so i had to re bleed all the lines the same way.
