Sounds like you have the four-speed transmission. There will be a diagnostic fault code stored in the Transmission Computer. That will indicate the circuit or system that needs further diagnosis. You'll need to find a mechanic with a scanner to read codes in that computer. Simple code readers used by many auto parts stores only read codes in the Engine Computer.
