The a/c quit. A code check said the a/c low press. sensor was bad. Replaced sensor and put in new dryer & orfice tube, since it had to be evacuated to replace the sensor. Tried to refill freon but compressor did'nt engage still. Hayes manual said run wire from batt. to see if clutch engages, It does. then bypass low press. sensor. Compressor still didn't engage. Checked for power at plug in for comp. No power. Replaced a/c comp. relay, still no power at comp. plug. Hayes manual mentions the low press. sensor will lock out compressor when low, but it don't say if it automatically resets itself or if I need to do something. All checks were done while the car was running and the a/c max switched on,fan high. Is there something I've missed? Anything I can try? I'm thinking of connecting a rocker switch from a power source to the a/c compressor and manually engage the compressor when needed. is this bad?
