Does it overheat at highway speeds?

yes it does, however, the temperature drops a little the it clims to the H (hot). Now like a said before I have nitice that even on traffic the cluth fan does not turn enough to keep the car cool, and I have change the cluth fan twice with no result. Another thing that I remember one after with temp at about 45 degress doing 60 mph. on the freeway it keep getting hot. Please help I need all the help or suggestions. Thanks for your reply.

If it is overheating at highway speeds, the fan (bad or not) won't make a difference. At 60mph, there is enough air flow through the radiator to cool the engine. Since everything is new (rad and pump) it has to be one of three things. First, are you certain that there are no air pockets that could be obstructing the flow of coolant (did you bleed the system)? Next, when the engine is overheating, I need you to check all radiator hoses to make sure they are not collapsed. I've seen where they have pinched themself shut and stopped coolant flow. Finally, and this is assuming that the coolant is full, you need to consider a possible headgasket issue. A compression may indicate lower compression in one of the cylenders which is allowing this problem to happen.

Check those things and let me know what you find. As far as the fan clutch, it is normal for the first minute or two for it to run full speed and then slow down. However, if the under hood temp is high enough (like you said when it overheats) it should be locked in full.

I do have one last question. When the temp gauge goes to hot, does the coolant boil over or is there any other indication that the engine is overheating?

Thanks for answering Jacob, as far as a pinch hose I do not see that, In reference to a headgasket I'm assuming that the water would go to the oil or out through the muffler?, and last yes the coolant you can hear it boiling in the reserve tank and also overflowing out of the tank. Now what puzzles me is the that I have always though that the fan clutch should fire up when the car gets hot at low speed 25-40 mph. and that doesn't happen and like I said I have change the clutch fan 3 times???. and in reference to the overflow of water it looses less then 8oz. so is not the engine has lost a significant amount of coolant to overheat. You are correct about the fan. As far as the head gasket, it could be bad and you not see any leaks.

If you are moving, the fan temp may stay low enough. If it does it when parked, the clutch must be bad. I don't like to say it, but so many parts are imported that the quality isn't the same as it once was. You may want to try a different brand. Try to find one made in the USA. If that is where the one is you have, try a different brand.
