What would cause Battery light and SRS light to stay on while driving?

2 days ago I seen my battery indicator light flash at me when shifting gears all the way up to 3rd gear. It has flashed at me that way 2-3 different times. This morning on my way to work it flashed then stayed on, I left work started my car and now my battery light & SRS light stay on all the time. Any ideas on where to start would be helpful, thanks!
