changed fluid filter and vacuum modulator, no changes, prolem keeps getting worse

transmission only shifts into drive when i rev the engine

Check trans pressure. The front pump may not be producing enough pressure. When you rev the engine, it turns faster and builds more pressure.

Ok, I was thinking the pump, so how would i go about testing the pressure?
