1993 Ford Escort Gas tank leaks

If more than 5-7 gallons of gas are put in, fuel runs out until it's down to about half tank. Tank is plastic and Ford no longer makes the tank. How do I fix it?

replace it if it leaks, there will be one out there somewhere or a junkyard. look online it may be metal

Salvage yards pop the tanks, so none available through salvage yards.
