I also have a 93 Chrysler Lebaron LE that just recently started having tranny problems. It is making a loud grinding type noise when taking off from a stop and it does not shift into third gear most of the time. I just dropped the fluid pan and changed the filter and cleaned the pan which was loaded with sludge and gunk. The small quarter size magnet in the pan was covered with fine metal shavings making it the size of a golf ball. I replaced the fluid and added a quart of Lucas Transmission additive and took the car for a lengthy test drive to get the additive circulated but seems like the problem is just as bad if not worse. I really like this car and want to get it back running and would like to know how difficult it is to change out the the transmission myself and also where I can find detailed info to do that. I have just bought the Chiltons Manual 20384 Front Wheel Drive Cars 6-Cyl 1988-95 Repair Manual. This manual however does not cover the removing and replacement of the transmission. Do you of a manual that shows this? Your answers would be greatly appreciated.
