Truck turns over, will not start

1993 C2500 truck, 5.7 V8 engine

Truck stalled out in driveway as I was pulling out. First time it has ever done that.

Truck as plenty of fuel, and will not start with starting fluid. No spark.

Replaced Dis Cap, Rotor, Coil, Ing Coil.... still no spark... What am I missing?

I noticed that there is a lot of play on the distributor Assembly left to right, but not up and down... is that normal, or does that mean the Dis is shot?

Does the rotor turn, when you crank it? If the rotor doesn't turn, check the timing chain. Also, move the crankshaft pulley, see if rotor moves with pulley? That movement doesn't sound right, there is supposed to be a hold-down bolt or something.

Do you have primary voltage at the coil? Pink wire, goes hot with the key on.

The rotor turns when cranking... there is no pink wire at the coil, mine are black and white

Tested power at the coil, neither of the wires is hot with the key on.... Could it be the Ignition Control Module?

White wire should be hot, feed comes from ignition switch. That is why it goes hot with the key on. You need to check feed to and from the ignition switch.

Below is the wiring diagram for ignition switch. Red wire is feed to ignition switch, hot all the time, come from fusible link.

Pink wire at the switch is B+ goes to ignition coil primary positive. There may be a splice somewhere, where the wire goes white, don't know?

I replaced the Ignition Control Module, and tightened the retaining bolt on the distributor, truck runs like a champ now!

Glad you got it going your way. From what you posted, the repair doesn't make sense, but hey, if it works it works, good job.
