runability

replaced transmission,removed engine oil pan had a level sensor in it I removed this item and welded shut hole assembled unit could not find replacement fuel line so I used rubber gas line ( old were rusted and brittle) all vacuum lines were brittle and broke into pieces,used rubber line,not sure if hooked up correctly cant find vacuum line schematic .I think I might have hooked up fuel lines backwards then tried to start ,would not start so I switched fuel lines starts runs low idle try to accelerate then dies if I feather the gas pedal it will run but header glows red . also how do I know which trans line goes were, im assuming top line goes to top of cooler?
