got a new altinator april 2010

for the past few days my car has been going dead but after a few minutes turns on today it went dead wont start no lights come on in the car when i tried to use jumper cables it did not work

have your battery checked. make sure the terminals are clean and charge the battery. take to an auto parts store they check for free. if the battery is bad then the alternator won't work right either. if the battery checks out ok, then have your car checked for a draw or go to the DIY on the site here andit covers how to do it.
