Probable causes of an engine running rich are as follows:

1.Excessive fuel pressure can be cause by restricted fuel return line
2.Defective Oxygen Sensors.
3.Leaking injectors and fuel pressure regulator.
4.Coolant temperature sensor out of calibration.
5.Restricted air intake system.

temp gauge hasn't worked forever, but has ran fine for a long time; fuel was coming out of smaller fuel line before replacing pressure regulator;still smell fuel,no power etc.

You're looking for 44-47 PSI at the regulator. Find the fuel return line and disconnect it at both ends and carefully blow it out to make sure it's clear. Also try replacing the fuel filter.

My wife's car need the new fuel lines and the Chev garage can not locate one. They say it was a one model, one year only part.
Any help out there?
