sputtering

hi i have a 1992 toyota celica 1.6 L ST automatic and at idle and at start its fine but when im on the road and at speed of 40mph it runs ok. When i step on the gas it jerks (sputtering) thats when i accelerate to go uphill. What do i need to do and what do i replace? Thanks

plugs or plug wires could be faulty/worn.
