Hi,

Why do new model nissan sentras have smaller or shorter oil filters than the old sentras for example e15 e16 engines that were manufactures in the 80s?

I can't be able to purchase an an oil filter locally that matches my OEM size filter. Locally I am only able to purchase smaller and larger filters than my OEM size filter. The retail store employee said that it is always better to use a smaller filter for greater oil pressure but I want expert advice. What do you recommend I go with the smaller filter or the larger filter?

never believe a thing the parts guy tells you other than selling parts. I always went with the larger filter because it held more oil also I don't use fram products they are built way to cheap
