Belt tensioner problem

I would like to ask a question regarding my car its a 1992 mercedes 190e 2.6, my drive belt recently had to be replaced and now thats its on the car its still loose and the tensioner rod keeps turning it wont tighten and the one bolt on it also just keeps turning, i don't understand why its doing that there was nothing wrong with it before.

This has an automatic belt tensioner on it. What do you mean by the tensioner rod? Which bolt keeps turning that won't tighten?

There's a metal rod right behind the belt that is like the shape of a long pencil that has a bolt on top and it runs down by the crank sensor I believe. It just keeps turning. Its close to the power steering reservoir. It used to tighten and loosen.

I do see them. I don't know how I missed them, but... You know, I can't tell what I am looking at. Does the part face the crankshaft pulley? Also, are you able to remove it?

honestly i don't know if it faces the crankshaft pulley or not the first picture is of the part that runs down the crank sensor and that part i believe from research i looked up is supposed to tighten or loosen the belt but its not working right and then the second picture is part of the belt tensioner the top bolt just keeps turning like its stripped. I don't know what to do with it the car needs a radiator anyway but i don't wanna keep dumping money into it.

Okay, I have done more research. I have found that the 13mm bolt, your pic 2, is the fixing nut. That is what holds the tensioner in place after the belt is adjusted. The other pics are the adjuster which is used to place tension on the belt. See pics below. Pic 1 is the adjuster that shouldn't be turned until the 13mm fixer bolt (pic 2) is loosened.

My guess is that the 13mm bolt wasn't loosened and someone tried to turn the adjuster bolt which has caused it to strip. The only thing that can be done at this point is to remove the component and see what was damaged.

I found these pic on the net. Even my manual didn't show them.

Need to find correct bolt for upper side of shock. Diagram that is correct please.

Hope this is what your looking for.

Unbolt shock absorber (28a) and bracket (29), to do this remove bolts (31 and 34). Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
