transmission not changing when lights are on

during they day it drive fine but at night when its time to drive with the lights on the rpm hand goes up and it want change gears not unless i cut the lights off and when i cut them back on it go back doing the same thing the transmission want change

Have the charging system checked. Another possible cause is a bad grounding circuit which is being affected by the headlights.

This may be a bad earthing problem, i would start with the battery earth and the body earth points, has the car been in an accident or had any electrical work done recently?
