I've got a 1992 Cherokee 2wd with a manual transmission. The internal slave cylinder went out and I replaced it. However, now 1st and 2nd only grind and go nowhere. The other gears seem to work. Where did I mess up?

Sounds like you still have air in the system. They are very hard to bleed because the bleeder is at the bottom and the air rises to the top.

I've bled and bled and bled, and its still the exact same. It will shift into 1st and 2nd but when I let off the clutch it makes a horibble grinding noise. 3rd, 4th, 5th and reverse work fine. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Those symptoms are different from what I thought you were experiencing. I thought it was grinding wen you tried to shift it not when you let the clutch out.

This sounds like something is wrong in the transmission, possibly with the gear selector.

Sorry I didn't explain it correctly to begin with. I'm not much of a mechanic lol. Is that something I could have shifted or messed up when I pulled and replaced the tranny?

It's possible. You really need a tech to look at it to determine what you are dealing wit here.
