When hot and going up a hill and hit passing gear does not accelerate or speed up

Tranny is good-hmm.... try checking the exhaust system for restriction and also check the throttle position sensor

What about the fuel filter, could that be a problem?

To rule out the fuel filter and a weak fuel pump you need a fuel gauge
