when switching between gears the idle drops down to about 500 rpm and if i hold in the clutch in it starts to surge if it not like if im going to stop and i put it in neutral the revs stay high about 1500 rpm untill i come to a complete stop. i have cleaned the throttle body changed both spark plugs and wires and fuel filter and air filter

ok so i checked the fuel pressure and it is at 37, also when i wasdoing the test i notice on the back of my alt where the nut is for the hot wire, it looked like it was almost glowing. i turned the engine off and took a closer look and the nut was very hot. im thinking maybe that is why my check engine light came on about 2 days ago.

k the alt is not grounding out any more thanks for your help. So with my fuel pressure at 37 psi would that mean i should replace my fuel pump? And i was hoping my check engine would have gone out but it didn't so trying to get some codes now. Its alot easier with a scanner its like I'm back in the dark ages using a code reader and for what ever reason i remember it not being so complicated
