1992 Ford Mustang Gasket

Does it overheat when you are driving at highway speeds? Have you flushed the cooling system including the radiator? Are you certain there are no air pockets in the engine?

Everthing been flushed , not sure what airpocket is . I have not taking it up to highway speed because it started to get hot in neighborhood.

When you drove it, was it in stop and go traffic only? If so, did the cooling fan turn on when it got hot?

As far as air pockets, many times when you drain the cooling system and refill it, the coolant doesn't get all the way through the system and leaves air pockets. This can cause it to heat up. Is the heater working properly? Usually, the heat won't work properly if there is air in the system.

Since the gauge is going up and down, it leads me to believe either the coolant is low or there is air in the system.

I well look into the air t know about stop and go only beonly been in the neighborhood because the car started acting up

How do you get the air out ?

I drove the car for about 5mils then the car almost overheated started to out the water reserve

I always loosen the return hose from the heater core and have the heat on. I start the car and wait for coolant to come out.
