1992 Ford F-250 fuel delivery issues

I just bought a 92 f250 inline 6 . The rear tank does not work so I use the front one but it cuts in and out if I flip
The switch to rear back to front it will run fine for a few minutes but act up again any idea of what problem could be? I'm thinking of replacing the fuel tank selector switch. ...
