I have a 1992 Ford F150 5.8 Automatic 4x4. The transmission will not go into gear, the shifter will slide but tranny will not engage. I have never worked on or replaced a transmission, however if I find the tranny, my grandfather will! :) I can find a transmission for a 5.0 all day long locally, but not a 5.8. Is the bellhousing swappable? I have heard yes and no.
