I have been working on a couple of Chevy's .
First was a Caprice . It has a full frame . Lots of places to position a floor jack .
Next was a 1992 Lumina 4 door sedan . As a uni-body car , the jack positions are extremely limited , at least in the back . I decided to put a jack stand under the right rear trailing arm and slowly release pressure from the jack . Watch things real closely to make sure all was well .
After all , the original trailing arm was made from what looked like just heavy sheet metal bent in kind of a " V " .
Well , you guessed it . Somehow , I opened up the relief / drain valve on the floor jack , too quickly . Before I could stop it , the car came down too quickly and the trailing arm bent . Son of a gun !
As if I did not have enough things to repair , I had just created another item for the list ! :-(
Thanks
