Could be a fuel filter and pick-up sock in fuel tank is clogged-up, exhaust system is restricted and transmission slipping-Dunno about prices it varies with location-check with tranny shops-

Make sure the engine is fully warmed-up and then check transmission fluid level if okay put shift gear in all gears a couple times and then attempt to move it-won't move have it further checked out-

The fuel filter is located under the vehicle on passenger side frame rail just ahead of the rear wheel.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

The fuel filter is a square assembly located at the back of the engine above the intake manifold. Disconnect the fuel lines in order to remove the filter. When installing, carefully thread and tighten the lines to the new filter. Start the engine and check for leaks.

Let me know if this helps.

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires

There are three types of fuel filters; internal (in the carburetor fitting), inline (in the fuel line) and in-tank (the sock on the fuel pickup tube).

Welcome to the site. If the engine is carbed, it should be a mechanical fuel pump not electric. What is the litre size of engine? With a carbed engine the fuel supply line should screw into the fuel filter housing.
