1992 Cadillac Deville Lip seal

How do you remove the lip seal in the transaxle case from a 1992 Cadillac Deville. Mine has cuts in it and the seal is just torn. Also the neck of the filter broke off at the top where the lip seal is. Is their a way of getting that off too. Thanks.

do you mean the o ring for the filter??


use a screw driver to pry it out, be carefull not to score the case

I am not sure I know the chiton Manuel refers to it as a lip ring seal it comes with the automatic transmission filter that I bought for my 1992 Cadillac Deville. Do you use the screwdriver on the outside of the case I would say most likely. Thanks.

Sean carefully use one the goes up to the seal and pry down gently. It is tight but will pop out

I think my neighbor might have a seal puller so I might be in luck. If not i will try it your way thank you so much I have had such bad day with this car starting off with antifreeze oil in the radiator and antifreeze in the transmission which lead to this project. Thanks.
