I got a code on my 1992 cadillac deville. It was E31 which is a shorted map sensor. Does this mean that there is a problem with the map sensor or is this a faulty wire. If the map sensor is bad, what would make the sensor go bad.Also my map sensor is 20 years old. Thanks for any help.

it could be a bad sensor or wiring or ecm. the person that will test it needs to verfiy reference voltage, ground and return signal to determine the failure and then he can give you the results and a bid.
