seriously FUBAR?

I have a short somewhere behind my dash. I can smack my dash and my dash lights will come on without the key being on and recently i blew a fuse and when was checking them noticed my stop light fuse was completely melted and the part of the fuse box itself. my brake lights haven't worked since however my tail lights seem to work just fine and the door chime works when the key is left in the ignition and the door is open and its the same fuse as the brake lights. although the chime stops if the brake is pressed but starts again when released...
