how do you set the distributor ?

took it out and im trying to set it back with the timing

Put engne no.1 piston on its conmpression stroke/TDC and line the crankshaft pulley to TDC/0 then install distibutor making sure the the rotor is pointing to the no.1 cap tower-

dont forget to align shaft with gear positioning sensor is also in distributor
