my plymouth voyager seems too run find, but i am wondering what normal rpm readings are for this engine is at 65 mph, right now tach readings are 2600, is this too high, i never seem too feel the trans shifting past 40 or 50 mph,, highway milage seems low to me at 21, when my 95 3.0 gets 25 ,26 highway

If it is a 3 speed auto, you should feel 2 shifts, if a 4 speed auto, you should feel 3 shifts.
Most cars are equipped with a lock up convertor. After the transmission shifts into high the convertor locks up and rpm drops another 200-300 rpm. The convertor lockup is usually controlled by a solenoid on the transmission.
Remember that 1991 models were governed by the (then) 55 mph speed limit, so they were designed to get best mileage at 55. The law was changed in 1993 to 65mph, so your 1995 was designed to get best mileage at 65.
2600 rpm at 65 does not sound way off.

I would take it to a transmission shop for a free diagnosis to make sure the convertor lock up is working.

My 1998 on dash shows p r n d 3 does that mean 3speed with overdrive does that mean a 3 speed auto, you should feel 2 shifts,or a 4 speed auto, because i feel 3 shifts. the 3rd shift happens about 40 to 45 but i dont fell a drop to over drive at or after 55. could the lock up converter be bad. and i get about 15mpg 6cyl,3.3L daul ac+heat and i get 2600 rpm at 65 does

2600 at 65 sounds like it's in overdrive to me.
