Mazda 626 Drivetrain

so none of the gears are working? any noises when you let out clutch?

No the shifting appears to be normal

No the car does not move more than an inch in any gear

everything was fine until this happened? no other symptoms before it happened?

Not more than an inch in either direction

Everything else seemed normal

clutch pedal feels the same/normal?

Before it gave out completely the rpms were higher to manitain the same speed

Cluth pedal was normal

I think this is a front weel drive model

other than something odd, rare,internal in the trans/differential, the symptoms indicate a worn out clutch disc. but usually that is noticed as the car movement engage point being high almost to top of pedal stop. and some rpm 'slippage' noticed under engagement/ acceleration. usually more apparent in the higher gears.

I was hoping it would be something simple like a fluid level but it sounds like I need to pull the transmission.

a loss of fluid causing air in hydraulic line would cause clutch pedal to go soft and you would not be able to change gears.

as a final test you could open bleeder on slave cylinder for a few seconds and re tighten and try car again?
