How do I remove key from ignition?

Recently had an issue where key would not turn in cylinder and I was stranded. Once I got the key to turn all was well, now I cannot remove the key from ignition

If the key can be turned to locked position and cannot be removed, the key cylinder is bad and you would need to have it replaced. If it cannot be turned to the LOCK position, check the gear shift/key lock adjustments
