I am in the process of re-building a 1990 GMC R2500 Suburban. We bought a re-manufactured 454 Crate Motor and installed new accessories, belts, hoses, radiator, ect.

My problem is after the engine gets hot, when SLIGHT pressure is applied to the accelerator while in drive and while in park, the engine will rev up and down, up and down. While in drive the truck tends to lurch forward slightly again, again and again until I put down more gas or let off the accelerator. Thoughts anyone? We have replaced the fuel injectors fuel pressure regulator, spark plugs, wires, distributor & fuel pump. I've also noticed that the idle is off a bit. If it had a tachometer, the needle would be bouncing up and down ever so slightly. Any adjustments that can be made to idle more properly? Could these problems be because of the same issue?
