do the cams need to be re-timed after broken belt? is there starting point and procedure to correctly re-time so you don't damage valves? putting cam shaves back to correct position for belt install putting pistons into center of stroke obvious the cams ?. First figure out where cams are then? this is tricky/difficult part for me. getting them there then positioning the lower assemblies pistons/ distributor ect?.

make sure all marks are still aligned when belt is on and tight.roll over engine twice around with a wrench back to TDC again and recheck before starting.

if valves interfere with pistons you should ckeck for bent valves before replacing belt.
