i have ford 1991 festiva gl. at night when my tail lights are on i step on the break and the tail light goes out and there is no break light either.on the driver side of the car. i cant find the problem?????

check bulbs if they look black replace them. check grounds on both sides they may not be clean an dnot letting work. also clean battery terminals an dbody to battery ground.
