could this be caused by the tv cable?

My car shifts perfect through first second and third gear but when it gets time to shift to over drive it acts like there aint overdrive so i can still drive it anywhere but id like to fix it

TV cable? Check the transmission fluid level and condition. It should be pink or red in color, with no brown. It shouldn't smell burned, either. If it's low, bring it up to specified level. If off-color or burned smelling, have it flushed.

If this doesn't fix it, check the fluid pressure.

it smokes a little,after i crank it up....the smoke looks like it coming from between the motor and the fire wall under the hood.
