I got stuck so i was rocking the truck shifting from 1st to reverse and back to 1st when i accidently shifted in 5th gear and it stuck there. Wont come out

shifter will need to come out to see if it linkage can be moved inside truck

What if linkage can't be move from inside truck? Will I need to drop transmission??

yes but most of them can the linkage has to look like a square hole where shifter goes into it check for worn parts causing that. there should be 3 rods and it should all line up like a square you can move them one at a time with a large screwdriver.
