Occasionally when starting my car one of my belts squeaks for about 10-15 seconds. Also notice as of late that my steering kind of has dead spots like no power steering from 12oclock to 1oclcock then its fine. Not sure if I have a bad power steering belt or if my power steering pump is going bad. Any and all info is greatly appreciated

OLD BELTS GET WORN ON THE SIDES---THE LITTLE MIDDLE PART GETS SUCKED IN DEEPER......SOMETIMES BOTTOMING IT OUT....THE SIDES NO LONGER HAVE THE FRICTION THEY ONCE HAD AND WE GET SLIP

SOMETIMES, EVEN THE PULLEYS WEAR OUT TOO

TRY A NEW BELT AND TIGHTEN IT CORRECTLY

DO NOT TOUCH ANY ADJUSTMENTS ON THE STEERING GEAR---THESE ADJUSTMENTS ARE FOR "INITIAL SET-UP" WHEN THE GEAR WAS NEW

MONKEYING WITH THEM WILL LOCK YOUR STEERING UP ..........LIKE WHEN YOU ARE MAKING A LEFT TURN OUT OF THE CENTER LANE----SIX LANES, DOWNTOWN ATLANTA AT 1700 HRS!

SEE IF THE BELT FIXES THINGS BEFORE YOU CHANGE THE PUMP!

check belts and make sure they are tight using a tension gauge
