I replaced my oil pan gasket on my 1990 jeep wrangler, and upon tightening one of the four 1/2 inch bolts, one broke. I now have a gaping gap about 3/4 inch in the middle by 2 in across tapering down on either side. it is fine idling, but now I cannot drive it because it gushes oil upon pressing the throttle. I cannot afford any more major repairs and I need a permanent fix.

You have to remove the pan, remove the broken bolt to replace it and replace anything else that was damaged, including the gasket.
