4x4 front wheels feel funny

90 suburban 2500..when i switch to 4x4...while making hard turns,,the front whells feel like the lugs are loose and are about to fall off...only in 4x4...any ideas?

If you are on a surface that provides good traction, then what you feel is normal. Is that what is going on?

driving now on hard compact snow...but when turning, the wheels literally feel like they are loose and about to fall off.

I would recommend starting with steering components. I will assume the tires are tight. Check things suck as the idler arm, pitman arm, tie rods, ball joints...
